Pin Antinote on top, hide and show the window, and choose where it lives on your Mac.
Design intent: Slot seamlessly into optimized workflows. Don't take up more space than needed.
Pin Antinote to top
- This will pin the Antinote window above other windows.
- Currently does not support full screen mode.
- Turn on "Restore pin state on open" (Settings > General > Window) to have Antinote come back pinned if it was pinned when you closed it.
Shortcut:
⌘ + P — Pin/Unpin Antinote to Top
Close and open window
- Close the window using
⌘ + W.
- Hide/Show using
⌘ + O, toggling the Global Hotkey (⌥ + A), or clicking the button in the status menu. If you use multiple spaces, Antinote will appear on the currently active space.
Shortcuts:
⌘ + W — Close window
⌘ + O — Hide/Show while Antinote is focused
⌥ + A — Hide/Show anytime (Global Hotkey)
Dock + Menu Bar
- Choose where Antinote lives in Settings > General > Menu bar & Dock: the Dock, a pseudo menu bar, both, the traditional menu bar, or nothing at all.
- If it shows in neither the menu bar nor the Dock ("Nothing"), it will only be accessible via the Global Hotkey or a launcher (e.g. Spotlight, Alfred, Raycast).
- Using the app in "Nothing" mode will also prevent the system menu from showing up. Though all system menu options are accessible via the app UI.
- Antinote will show over full-screen apps in Pseudo Menu Bar mode and Traditional Menu Bar mode.
- At the moment, going full screen when using "Nothing" mode will lead to a bug where you can't un-fullscreen the window.
- You can set Antinote to hide whenever it loses focus and isn't pinned ("Hide Antinote when it loses focus" in Settings > General > Window). This is helpful when using it in Pseudo Menu Bar mode on top of full screen apps.
- Changing the mode requires an app restart — Antinote will ask.
Settings:
- Show Antinote in —
Dock Only | Pseudo Menu Bar | Dock and Pseudo Menu Bar | Traditional Menu Bar | Nothing
- Hide Antinote when it loses focus —
On | Off
Traditional Menu Bar with dropdown note + fullscreen support
- This mode will put Antinote in the traditional menu bar with a note that drops down from the icon.
- This dropdown will appear over fullscreen apps.
Settings:
- Dropdown window size (only if Traditional Menu Bar is active) —
Width x Height
