Terminal Commands

Reset preferences and launch Antinote with live logs for debugging.

Reset all preferences

If you need to reset Antinote to its default settings, run this command in Terminal:

defaults delete com.chabomakers.Antinote
  • This will remove all saved preferences (theme, hotkey, dock mode, etc.). Your notes will not be affected.
  • Restart Antinote after running this command.

Launch with logs

To launch Antinote and see real-time logs in the terminal (useful for debugging or reporting issues):

/Applications/Antinote.app/Contents/MacOS/Antinote
  • This runs Antinote directly from the terminal, so all log output will appear in the terminal window.
  • If you installed Antinote via Homebrew, the path may differ. You can find it with which antinote or mdfind "kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier == com.chabomakers.Antinote".
